I 18 \u00e5r satt Nelson Mandela f\u00e4ngslad i en tr\u00e5ng cell p\u00e5 7 g\u00e5nger 9 fot p\u00e5 Robben Island. Trots de fysiska och psykiska p\u00e5frestningar han utstod f\u00f6rblev Mandelas orubbliga anda obruten. Hans cell, nu ett museiexponat, st\u00e5r som ett bevis p\u00e5 hans motst\u00e5ndskraft och den okuvliga m\u00e4nskliga anden.<\/p>\n\n

1997, tre \u00e5r efter apartheidregimens fall, omvandlades Robben Island till ett museum. Bes\u00f6kare kan nu g\u00f6ra en rundtur p\u00e5 \u00f6n, bes\u00f6ka f\u00e4ngelset och l\u00e4ra sig om kampen och triumferna f\u00f6r antiapartheidr\u00f6relsen. Museet fungerar som en kraftfull p\u00e5minnelse om fasorna i det f\u00f6rtryck som baserats p\u00e5 ras och motst\u00e5ndskraften hos dem som k\u00e4mpade mot det.<\/p>\n\n
