Discovery of a Lost Manuscript

In the heart of the ancient Aztec capital, Tenochtitlan, once stood a vast library brimming with written treasures. In recent years, researchers have turned to the cutting-edge technique of hyperspectral imaging to unlock the secrets hidden within the Codex Selden. This advanced technology allows scientists to capture images across a wide spectrum of wavelengths, revealing details that are invisible to the naked eye.

Armed with hyperspectral imaging, researchers embarked on a meticulous examination of the codex. Beneath the opaque surface, they uncovered a vibrant array of images and glyphs, reminiscent of the colorful Mixtec manuscripts found in present-day Oaxaca, Mexico.

A Palimpsest of Mixtec Culture
